Erin Thorpe (Program Director)- Ms. Thorpe is an Alumni of CHTV and has been working in the video production business professionally for several years. Graduating from CHS in 2004, she then attended Purdue University’s prestigious Film and Video Studies program. She then went on to work on several Emmy-award winning programs at WFYI Channel 20 – the PBS affiliate in Indianapolis. She has now been with Carmel High School for the past three years, taking over for Hal Espey this past year as CHTV Station Manager/Instructor.
MANAGEMENT CLASS
Andrew Fuller (Senior)- Andrew has been with CHTV for 3 years, starting out his broadcasting career with doing volleyball as color commentator, he bumped up to play-by-play his Junior year winning a state title for girls basketball broadcasting with Kayla Perry. Andrew plans on attending Adrian College or Ball State University to major in Telecommunications and minor in Sports Management while playing volleyball at either of those schools.
Joe Jasin (Senior)- Joe has been part of the CHTV family for 3 years starting his career under the leadership of Hal Espey. Joe focuses more on the management side of the station, as he ran the first edition of the CHTV morning announcements of the 2011-2012 school year. Joe is undecided on where he will be attending college but plans on majoring in Communications.
JJ Newton (Senior)- JJ is part of the Carmel high school football team, along with CHTV. JJ is one of the 2 hosts of The Sound of the Hounds, a 30 minute sports show on CHTV. JJ is undecided on where he will attend or what he will major in.
Katie Pittman (Senior)-Katie is the leader of the CHTV management class. Being most involved of the class including groups like CHS Government and DECA, she still makes time for sideline reporting during the Carmel high school football games. Katie plans on attending Samford in Alabama, majoring in Telecommunications.
Christian Schinbeckler (Senior)- Christian has been part of CHTV for 3 years broadcasting Lacrosse, Football, and Basketball during his career in CHTV. He now does the WHJE Football broadcasts with fellow CHTV member, Dillon Welch. Schinbeckler is looking to attend Ball State University to major in Telecommunications and become a sports broadcaster later in his career.
Austin Schmits (Senior)- Austin started broadcasting his sophomore year doing Soccer games. now focuses more on the camera sides, he is the devoted CHTV cameraman for all girls basketball games. Still announcing on occasion, Austin plans on attending Ball State University where he will play Rugby an major in Telecommunications.
Ryan Vonderohe (Senior)- Ryan is a true leader of CHTV. Being very involved, he focuses a lot on managing running shows from behind the desk, as he is the Studio Director for the Principal Williams Show. Ryan still announces on occasion with Christian and Dillon during Lacrosse season. Ryan is also involved with the CHS marching band. He is undecided on what college he will attend and what he will major in.
Dillon Welch (Senior)- Dillon Welch has been a sports broadcaster for CHTV since his sophomore year. Welch came 3rd in the state for 2011 IASB sports broadcasting play-by-play award. He announced football and basketball for CHTV his junior year and now focuses on WHJE sports broadcasting. Welch plans on attending Ball State University to focus on Telecommunications.
